Hi guys!
I will be kicking off with a few more topics to discuss soon, but I am waiting for a few more people to join us. Meanwhile, I thought I'd post an image of our home made spear heads and back points. They work well with thrusting, but striking, as always with heavier spears, should be done with care.
We make these out of car radiator hoses that we boil, cut up and tape together with duct tape.
You can see them in use here:

We're only experimenting in this clip and had sparred very little with spears. It was my third time and Andreas first... Hopefully we will be getting tighter soon.

Yep, the price is great. But also the fact that you can easily adjust the stiffness by yourself to a safety level that suits you. The downside is that they look unprofessional and tend to curve a bit, since the hoses usually are rolled up. But, as I mentioned in another thread, I know a guy who is working on making spearheads for sparring and possibly also other polearms simulators.
So, it might be a good idea to let me know what you are interested in and how you would like them to be. Perhaps I should start up a poll a little later on?

Right now we are using these spikes, which I feel are a bit overpriced:

We've been looking at those to but I agree, they are a bit expensive, especially as a complete pollax. There are a few other options available and I have a good contact, as mentioned in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=148
